Here you will find some Web 2.0 Tech Tools that will enhance your learning. The online software programs below are excellent production tools that can be used to share and publish your learning (think... Level 5 projects or book trailers for our library!).
Thinglink
Thinglink allows you to tag certain elements in a picture and link it to text, videos, and other websites. You will be allowed to demonstrate depth and understanding by tagging your picture.
Haiku Deck
Haiku Deck is a free app that makes presentations simple, beautiful and fun. The interface allows users to effectively communicate with few words yet big on pictures or images allowing presenters to free their viewers from "death by PowerPoint." The result is an engaging preso that doesn't include information overload.
Prezi
Think of Prezi as an interactive whiteboard and a way to present concepts and ideas. To understand complexity, one must zoom out to see the big picture and in to see the details. Prezi’s 3-dimensional canvas is a virtual space where you can delve deeper and pan wider to broaden the conversation. This adds relevant context to your idea by presenting an integrated view of how each detail relates to each other and to the big picture.
Go!Animate
Go!Animate is a tool that allows you to create an animated cartoon video. You design your own avatar and record your own audio. This is a neat tool that could be used for your Cool Stuff (Level 5) project.
Wordle
Wordle is a website that allows you to create “word clouds” from text/words that you provide. The size of the words in your cloud depends on the number of times you type the word in the box. You can tweak your “word clouds” with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. This is a great tool to help you remember vocabulary words as well as how to spell them. To take a screenshot (picture) of your Wordle, click shift+command+4 (for Macs only). When the target appears, highlight the area that you want to save. Once you let go of the mouse/touch pad, it will save the picture on to your desktop. Feel free to upload your Wordle to our class wiki. Be creative!
Tagul
Like Wordle, Tagul enables you to create word clouds. However, Tagul has some features that Wordle doesn't. You will be able to copy and paste text, then remove unimportant words, change font size and color of key words... making this an excellent tool to summarize text and identify main ideas. Your Tagul cloud will be assigned a unique URL so that you can share it with others.
Glogster
Use Glogster to create GLOGS - online multimedia posters - with text, photos, videos, graphics, sounds, drawings, data attachments and more. Glogs are interactive and will expand your presentation skills on any topic. Express your knowledge and skills in this unique format, then share with your peers by sending them the link to your glog.
Dipity
Dipity is a tool that allows you to create an interactive digital timeline. This is a tool that could be used for your Cool Stuff (Level 5) project.
